National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, performed a sadaka in memory of the departed at the Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque in Anew. The event was attended by the new Mufti of Turkmenistan, Rahman Gurbanmyradov, clergy, and elders, according to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Addressing the gathering, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the inextricable link between ancient Turkmen traditions and Islam, and also noted the importance of honoring the memory of the deceased as one of the key national customs. Following the meal, the Mufti of Turkmenistan offered the funeral prayer. The participants then performed the evening prayer.

The Seyit Jemaleddin Mosque was opened in March 2024 with the participation of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat.
