From June 15 to 24, 2026, the XI International Cultural and Educational Forum "Children of the Commonwealth" will be held for the first time at the Shokhin Children's Camp in the Tajik city of Guliston. The event is organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States, according to the website iacis.ru.
The forum will feature school delegations from nine countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The program includes more than thirty events. Participants will learn about the history, culture, and traditions of the Commonwealth states and participate in an intellectual Olympiad, master classes, a tourist rally, a physical education and sports marathon, and friendly tournaments. Meetings with athletes, music competitions, arts evenings, and a tour of Dushanbe are also planned.
The "Children of the Commonwealth" forum was established at the initiative of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic and was first held in 2013 on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. Over the years, more than 700 schoolchildren have participated in the project. Over time, the forum's geography expanded: Russia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus hosted the event. In 2025, the forum was held at the Zubryonok Children's Center in Belarus and was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The project's main goal is to create a platform for informal communication between schoolchildren, develop intercultural dialogue, and strengthen friendly ties between younger generations in the Commonwealth countries.
