Apple introduced an updated Siri AI voice assistant and a separate application for it

At WWDC 2026, Apple unveiled an updated voice assistant based on the Apple Intelligence platform, Siri AI, as well as a separate app of the same name.

According to the company, the updated assistant has improved conversational support, more accurately understands user context, and searches for information more effectively. Siri AI can find information in messages, emails, photos, and other files—including recommendations from friends or booking confirmations.

The assistant can also analyze screen content and generate responses using information from the internet. It can be accessed with a swipe from Dynamic Island, the side button, or the voice command "Hey Siri." On iPad and Mac, the assistant is integrated into Spotlight.

Users will be able to customize the assistant's voice, tempo, and intonation. Furthermore, the system now recognizes speech more accurately, adds punctuation, and formats text in real time. Siri AI will initially support only English.

The new Siri app will sync your chat history across devices via iCloud. On iPhone, the assistant's multimodal capabilities are integrated into the camera app: it can answer questions about the world around you, calculate the cost of meals on your receipt with Apple Cash, and determine the nutritional value of food from a photo.

When composing messages and emails, Siri AI can adapt the communication style to the specific interlocutor and automatically check the text for errors.

Siri AI and updated Apple Intelligence features will be included in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27. Supported devices include iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, iPad mini with the A17 Pro chip, iPad and Mac with the M1 chip and later, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple Watch Series 10 and Ultra 2 and later. EU availability will be delayed.
