The first model of the new Russian automobile brand, Senat, was presented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 4. The brand is associated with the luxury brand Aurus and uses a similar shield logo, but with the name Senat instead of Aurus, according to drom.ru.

The new brand's first product was the Senat 900 sedan, based on the Chinese Hongqi H9 sedan. The car featured a unique front bumper with a massive chrome radiator grille with vertical teeth. The model's dimensions are 5140 × 1900 × 1500 mm. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine producing 326 hp and 450 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Senat 900 production is underway at the former Toyota plant in Shushary. The official launch of the vehicle was held at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). Investment in the project totaled 3 billion rubles.

The price of the new model has not yet been disclosed. For comparison, the original Hongqi H9, with a similar 3,0-liter engine, sells in Russia for 10 million rubles and up. In addition to the base version, the lineup also includes a long-wheelbase variant called the Senat 1000.
