Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister met with an IMF delegation

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Serdar Muhammetdurdyev held talks with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which arrived in Ashgabat for consultations under Article IV of the IMF Agreement, according to the press service of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as key aspects of macroeconomic policy, sustainable development, and strengthening the country's financial system.

Particular attention was paid to the analysis of foreign economic factors influencing the regional and global agenda. The importance of Turkmenistan's consistent efforts to diversify export routes, modernize its transport and logistics infrastructure, and effectively utilize its national potential to mitigate external risks was emphasized.

Turkmenistan's integration into the global economic system, including the country's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), was discussed separately. IMF representatives commended Turkmenistan for its efforts to harmonize national legislation and modernize its statistical system in line with international standards.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and expressed confidence that the results of the current IMF mission will contribute to strengthening the partnership in the interests of ensuring stable economic growth in the region.
