On June 7, parliamentary elections were held in Armenia, with 16 parties and two blocs participating. A total of 1 476 916 citizens turned out to vote, according to Sputnik Armenia.
The country's Central Electoral Commission has announced preliminary voting results from all 2005 polling stations. The Civil Contract party took the lead, garnering 49,81% of the vote (727 160). The Strong Armenia bloc came in second with 23,29% (340 062). The Armenia bloc received 9,94% (145 097), and the Prosperous Armenia party received 4% (58 368).
