In Britain, 21 royal family security guards were suspended for sleeping on duty

More than 20 members of the unit responsible for protecting the British royal family and royal residences have been disciplined following an investigation into cases of sleeping on duty and absenteeism.

According to the Metropolitan Police, 21 officers from the Royal Protection Unit have been temporarily suspended from duty. Two more officers involved in the investigation will be allowed to continue serving at royal properties until the investigation is completed.

The investigation was launched following media reports that some security personnel had fallen asleep while on duty at Windsor Castle and left secure areas unattended. For the unit responsible for the safety of members of the monarchy and the protection of royal residences, such violations are considered particularly serious.

A police spokesperson emphasized that the officers' actions did not meet the high professional standards required of personnel working at high-security facilities. In response to the incident, Scotland Yard is also conducting a further assessment of the current security measures and protection systems for members of the British monarchy.

The results of the investigation and possible further disciplinary measures will be announced after all investigations are completed.
