The capital's Art Bazaar gallery invites residents and visitors to Ashgabat to the opening of the "Neo-Poetry" exhibition, which will take place on June 20 at 18:00.
This is a large-scale experimental project by Turkmen writer, poet, and playwright Hemra Shirov.
The exhibition completely changes the conventional understanding of literature and reading, proving that poetry can be not only heard but also viewed as full-fledged paintings.
For many years, the author has been transforming words into visual images and textual puzzles, constructing contemporary text into complex figures, silhouettes, and symbols.

The exhibition will center on the famous visual poems by H. Shirov, which directly reference the calligrams of the legendary French poet Guillaume Apollinaire.
These graphic works were previously successfully exhibited at the World Exhibition in Germany and won acclaim from international critics. Visitors will be able to discover rare genres rarely found in classic books: anagrams, acrostics, mesostems, diagonal constructions, and figurative labyrinths.
A distinctive feature of the exhibition will be its complete interactivity, as all the exhibits can be touched, handled, and read.
At the opening ceremony, Hemra Shirov will personally greet guests and share the secrets of creating graphic poetry.
The exhibition will be held at the Art Bazaar Gallery, Olympic village, Operation Center building. Admission is free.
