The next meeting of the CIS IPA Council will be held in Turkmenistan on November 19-20

The next meeting of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the CIS (IPA CIS) will be held on November 19-20, 2026, in Turkmenistan. This was announced by Dunyagozel Gulmanova, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, speaking at the IPA CIS Council meeting in St. Petersburg.

"The next meeting will take place on November 19-20, 2026, in Turkmenistan. Our country is currently working with the Secretariat of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly to prepare for this event. We are ready to provide our full support for its successful completion," she said.

According to Gulmanova, amid ongoing international tensions, the CIS remains a reliable platform for dialogue based on the principles of mutual respect and equal cooperation. She emphasized that the Commonwealth member states maintain effective cooperation in political, economic, trade, and humanitarian areas.

"The CIS, uniting a vast geographic area, serves as an effective platform for developing centuries-old historical, political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties between our countries," noted the Speaker of the Mejlis.

Gulmanova also recalled that Turkmenistan will chair the CIS in 2026. The primary goal of the chairmanship is to develop comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation based on the principles of trust, equality, and dialogue, as well as to strengthen the role and authority of the Commonwealth as a platform for ensuring peace and stability in the region.
