Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Belarus's Deputy Foreign Minister Pavel Utyupin, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

During the talks, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The meeting participants acknowledged the high level of interaction between the two countries within the United Nations and emphasized the importance of effective cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Special attention was paid to opportunities for expanding cultural and humanitarian ties, including holding specific joint events this year.
