Uganda's Ministry of Health has announced a temporary ban on handshakes and other forms of physical contact when greeting people. The measure was introduced following the confirmation of two cases of Ebola virus infection in the country.

According to Diana Atwine, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, the restrictions are aimed at reducing physical contact between people and preventing the further spread of the virus.

This was reported by the Nile Post newspaper, citing a ministry spokesperson.
