Within the framework of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) taking place in Azerbaijan, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the city of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, Deryageldy Orazov, and the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing the economic partnership between the two countries. During the talks, achievements in investment, transport, logistics, and transit were touched upon, and opportunities for expanding cooperation in trade, energy, and other areas were explored.

As Mikail Jabbarov reported on his account on the X social network, the Azerbaijani side expressed satisfaction with the visit of the Turkmen delegation: “We were pleased to welcome Deryageldy Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, to our country within the framework of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). The development of economic partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, achievements in cooperation in the areas of investment, transport, logistics and transit, as well as prospects for expanding cooperation in trade, energy and other areas were discussed."
The World Urban Forum will be held in Baku from 17 to 22 May 2026. The Forum is organized in partnership between the Government of Azerbaijan and UN-Habitat under the theme "Sheltering for Peace: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Communities." The event serves as a key international platform for dialogue on sustainable urban development and creates additional opportunities for high-level bilateral contacts.
