Noto Satoyama Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture will be temporarily renamed Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport in the summer of 2026. The themed airport will remain in place until September 2029, according to ixbt.
The initiative is being implemented jointly by the Ishikawa Prefectural Government and the Pokémon With You Foundation within the framework of the Noto Peninsula's post-2024 earthquake recovery program. The organizers hope this unique format will stimulate tourism and support local businesses.
The terminal will feature images of Pikachu and other franchise characters, installations featuring flying Pokémon, themed signage, and special seating areas. The focal point of the central atrium will be a two-story sculpture featuring Pikachu and an airplane, as well as an observation deck.
In addition to the terminal itself, the project includes branded bus routes around the Noto Peninsula, themed menus in the airport restaurants, and the sale of exclusive souvenirs—clothing and travel accessories from the new Sky of Hope series.
According to the organizers, the airport will be the first airport in the world to officially use the Pokémon name in its name.
