The Speaker of the Parliament of Turkmenistan is in Uzbekistan on a working visit

Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova is taking part in the Second Asian Women's Forum, organized by the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the United Nations Population Fund and UN Women, as well as in the Dialogue of Women of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The events are taking place in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, according to the Mejlis website.

On the first day of the working visit, the Turkmen delegation participated in the Central Asian-Azerbaijani Women's Dialogue forum, "Women's Leadership in Science: Current Issues, Innovative Solutions, and Scientific Cooperation."

In her speech, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova spoke about the country's ongoing efforts to continuously improve the relevant legislative framework, aimed at actively engaging women in educational programs aimed at increasing their digital literacy.

It was also noted that this Dialogue provides an open platform for combining efforts to improve the integration of Central Asian women into the global marketplace and access to modern knowledge through the digital economy, as well as to strengthen the role of women in public administration and the digital economy.

The importance of scientific research conducted by female scientists in Turkmenistan was emphasized.

D. Gulmanova emphasized that within the framework of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the CIS and the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, it is planned to hold an International Women's Dialogue, an international conference on demography, and a meeting of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in Turkmenistan, and invited participants of the Women's Dialogue meeting to take part in these international forums.
