US President Donald Trump posted a photo of a $100 bill on the social network TruthSocial, which features himself instead of the traditional portrait of Benjamin Franklin.

The initiative to replace the portrait on the bill has been discussed in the American political arena since March 2025, when Texas Republican Congressman Brandon Gill officially proposed placing the current president's image on the hundred-dollar bill.

Amid a series of symbolic decisions involving Trump's image on official merchandise, the US government also announced the issuance of passports bearing the president's photograph—in honor of the 250th anniversary of the country's independence, which will be celebrated in the summer of 2026. In January of this year, Trump's portrait was officially included in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in Washington.
