Turkmen films win prestigious awards at Izmir International Film Festival

At the Turan International Film Festival, which took place in Izmir, Türkiye, Turkmenistan presented films produced by the Oguzhan Turkmenfilm Association of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography and the Mahabat Directorate, which received prestigious awards.

According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, Batyr Batyrov's feature film "Ýeňişli ädimler" won the Red Apple Award for Best Feature Film.

Mekan Gurbanaliev's "Mahir terbiýesi" won the Red Apple Award for Best Short Film.

Rovshen Velmiev's animated film "Meniň oýnum" received the Red Apple Special Jury Prize.

The festival, organized by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism in partnership with TURKSOY, featured screenings of over 2000 films from over 90 countries. The goals of the international film forum are to showcase the values of the Turkic world and foster cooperation in this area, as well as further develop cultural ties between the countries.
