Malaysian energy company “PETRONAS” has confirmed its interest in participating in projects to develop the giant “Galkynysh” gas field with the goal of increasing marketable gas production. This was announced by Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marikan, Chairman of the Prime Minister's Advisory Committee on Political Affairs, during a meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council), the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

In 2026, “PETRONAS” will celebrate 30 years of operations in Turkmenistan. The National Leader of the Turkmen People, in turn, emphasized the importance of focusing partners' efforts on implementing new projects in the country's gas chemical industry.
