National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Maritan, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Political Affairs to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

During the conversation, the parties noted the dynamic nature of Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation in such strategically important areas as economics, transport, energy, education, and culture. The Malaysian guest conveyed warm greetings from the Supreme Ruler of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim, and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to the National Leader of the Turkmen People.
