Food security remains a key priority for Turkmenistan

Ensuring access to nutritious and healthy food and food security is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's socioeconomic policy. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in his welcoming message to participants of the Agro Pack Turkmenistan 2026 international exhibition, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

According to the head of state, long-term and medium-term programs have been adopted in the country and are being successfully implemented to create sustainable food production systems and implement effective agricultural practices.

Turkmenistan is strengthening its cooperation with the UN and its specialized agency, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Measures are being taken to technically and technologically re-equip the agricultural sector, food processing industries, and enhance the competitiveness of manufactured products.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the country's private producers, with state support, are achieving significant results in agriculture and livestock farming, poultry farming, greenhouse farming, meat and milk processing, confectionery production, fruit juice production, and fresh and processed vegetables and melons.
