A business mission bringing together representatives of the private sectors of Turkmenistan and the UK kicked off at the West London Chambers of Commerce headquarters in London. The event, which runs from May 11 to 15, aims to develop trade and economic cooperation, establish direct B2B contacts, and expand export opportunities for Turkmen businesses in the UK and European markets.

The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan jointly with the West London Chamber of Commerce. TurkmenExpo acted as a co-organizer, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen delegation includes representatives from 20 national companies ready to present their products and services. More than 40 organizations and enterprises are participating in the mission on the British side, including renowned global organizations and brands such as Range Rover, Primark, Shell, Score, APM Fresh, Fieldfisher, Make UK, and the Berkeley Group, as well as Cambridge University, Brunel University London, the University of West London, Sanderson Design Group, and Smart Currency Exchange.

The official opening ceremony began with a welcome address by Alan Rides, CEO of the West London Chamber of Commerce, who emphasized the importance of strengthening business ties between the UK and Turkmenistan and noted the strong interest of British businesses in the Central Asian market. During this week, British companies will consider visiting Turkmenistan to establish closer contacts between the business communities of both countries.

Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, also delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation for developing the country's private sector and promoting Turkmen products in foreign markets. Following the opening ceremony, brief presentations were given on key areas of cooperation.

The main focus was on the agri-food sector, textile industry, education, tourism and construction.

In the afternoon, business mission participants will be given on-site familiarization visits. Throughout the week, they will participate in a series of B2B meetings, industry talks, and business visits aimed at establishing new partnerships and developing trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the UK.
