The Turkmenistan weightlifting team will compete at the Asian Championships in India

Turkmen athletes will take part in the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Gandhinagar, India.

The competition will feature 172 athletes from 28 countries. Turkmenistan will be represented by six athletes at the continental championship.

Bunyad Rashidov (up to 71 kg) and Bektimur Reimov (up to 79 kg) will be the first to take to the competition stage on May 14. Ramazan Toryaev and Gaigysyz Toryaev will compete in the up to 88 kg category on May 15, and Rustem Annaberdyev will compete in the up to 94 kg category on May 16. On the final day of competition, May 17, Davranbek Khasanbaev will take to the competition stage in the up to 110 kg category.

It is worth noting that India is hosting the Asian Weightlifting Championships for the second time in history – the previous championship was held in Delhi in 1982 within the framework of the IX Asian Games.
