On May 17, 2026, a master class will be held in Ashgabat by two members of the film crew of the animated film “Flow” (2024), a Latvian film that won an “Oscar” for Best Animated Feature Film and the title of “Best European Animated Film”.

The event will take place at Art Nokady (“Arkach” Business Center) at 11:00. Participation is limited to 15 people. Register at https://forms.gle/zDKUiUhVgZAQrtUc9.
"The Flow" is a work by Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis, created primarily by a small team of freelancers on a budget of approximately 3,5 million euros. The film attracted widespread international attention not only for its visual expressiveness but also as an example of a new approach to filmmaking—low-budget, independent, and technologically accessible.
At the masterclass, speakers will discuss a small team's unconventional path to an Oscar and share their experiences working with 3D animation, from setting technical challenges to practical solutions. Special attention will be paid to the global trend toward independent filmmaking—its possibilities, scalability, and new challenges in the context of modern technology.
The master class is designed for professionals, researchers, students, and anyone interested in film, animation, and visual effects.
