Turkmen weightlifter Anamjan Rustamova won the gold medal in the 86 kg weight class at the Junior World Championships. The competition is being held in Egypt.
Rustamova lifted 110 kg in the snatch and 147 kg in the clean and jerk, for a total of 257 kg. She also won a small gold medal in the clean and jerk.
Following the competition, the Turkmen athlete finished ahead of China's Linyue Xu (256 kg) and Armenia's Emma Poghosyan (253 kg), who took second and third place, respectively.
This is the second medal for the Turkmenistan team at the current World Championships. Previously, Didarbek Jumabayev won bronze in the 79 kg category.
