In the southern region of Turkmenistan, over 28 thousand hectares of land are allocated for growing vegetables and melons

This year, 28 170 hectares of agricultural land in the Mary velayat have been allocated to vegetable and melon cultivation. The main crop, spring potatoes, have been planted on 9 thousand hectares, with a planned harvest of 126 thousand tons.

Spring onions occupy 2 700 hectares, with a harvest expected to reach 67 500 tons, according to Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

Tomatoes have been planted on 985 hectares, and carrots and cabbage are also expected to be harvested.

Melons are expected to reach 86 300 tons from 4 315 hectares.
