Students of the STRSOSH school held a series of commemorative events in the run-up to Victory Day

In the lead-up to Victory Day, students from Class 4B of the joint Turkmen-Russian comprehensive school named after A.S. Pushkin held a series of commemorative events.

Schoolchildren visited World War II veteran Sergei Agamyan. The children prepared a congratulatory message: they recited poetry and sang a song. The veteran shared his memories and parting words.

The students also traveled outside Ashgabat and laid flowers at monuments in nearby villages. They visited a memorial to Turkmen soldiers who participated in the war in the village of Yasmansalyk and a monument to heroes of the home front in the village of Geokche. At each monument, the students observed a moment of silence in memory of the fallen. Village residents and students from the local school observed the event.

On May 9, Turkmenistan will celebrate Victory Day. This year marks 81 years since the end of World War II.
