Ashgabat and Islamabad discussed the resumption of air traffic

Pakistani Ambassador to Turkmenistan Faryal Leghari discussed the resumption of air travel between the two countries with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Annayev, the press service of the Pakistani diplomatic mission in Ashgabat reported.

During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in transport and communications.

Priority areas include developing civil aviation and resuming air travel between Turkmenistan and Pakistan. Plans also include exploring the potential for road and rail links linking Pakistan and Central Asia through Turkmenistan.

Expanding trade between the countries via rail transport via Iran and Turkmenistan was also discussed. The parties agreed to intensify efforts to finalize trade agreements ahead of the planned visit of a high-level Turkmen delegation to Pakistan, the statement noted.
