It has been announced that Azerbaijan will be represented at WUF13 in Baku

The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) will be held in Baku from May 17–22, 2026. The event, organized with the support of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), aims to share international experience in sustainable urban development, smart city development, and the implementation of innovative urban solutions.

During the plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament, MP Aydin Huseynov noted that holding the forum demonstrates the country's high political standing on the international stage. He stated that participants will focus on the results of restoration work in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, as well as Baku's development as a leading city in the Caspian region. The MP also expressed confidence that the forum will create additional opportunities for attracting foreign investment to the country.

MP Aydin Mirzazade, in turn, emphasized that holding WUF13 in Baku will increase the interest of major international companies in Azerbaijan. He noted the extensive work being carried out in the country in housing construction, the creation of social infrastructure, and the restoration of communications networks.

As a reminder, Turkmenistan will also participate in WUF13 at the highest level. As Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Gurbanmammet Elyasov, told Report.az in an interview, the country will send a high-level delegation to the forum. The diplomat emphasized that Turkmenistan prioritizes construction, housing modernization, and the creation of a comfortable urban environment, and that Ashgabat and the town of Arkadag serve as illustrative examples of the implementation of state urban development policy.
