Saturn's moons Enceladus and Jupiter's Europa are the most promising objects in the Solar System for the possible existence of extraterrestrial life, according to Sergei Nazarov, a researcher at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (CrAO), speaking to RIA Novosti.
According to the astronomer, both moons possess significant reserves of water hidden beneath a thick ice cover and also contain chemical elements necessary for the emergence of life.
"The moons Enceladus and Europa are promising sites where extraterrestrial life could have originated in our solar system," the agency quoted him as saying.
