Representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Russia and the CIS Executive Committee met with the agency's Deputy Director General, Alexander Kopnov, at the TASS news agency, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Moscow.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on key areas of cooperation between Turkmen media and TASS, confirming their mutual commitment to further expanding the partnership.

Particular emphasis was placed on interaction between Turkmenistan's leading media outlets and the Council of Heads of CIS State News Agencies, chaired by TASS Director General Andrei Kondrashov. Media coverage of upcoming events marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, as well as the 35th anniversary of the CIS and Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the Commonwealth, was discussed.

TASS is Russia's largest news agency and one of the world's leading agencies. Founded in 1904, the agency maintains an extensive network of correspondent offices in Russia and abroad, providing 24/7 coverage of national and international events in Russian and English.

The TASS representative office in Turkmenistan opened in August 2022. A correspondent sent from Moscow began working in Ashgabat.
