A joint exhibition of works by Ada Gutlyev and Babasary Annamuradov has opened in Ashgabat

An exhibition of works by two renowned Turkmen artists, both national artists, has opened at the gallery of the State Academy of Arts in Ashgabat.

Carpet artist Ada Gutlyev and sculptor Babasary Annamuradov are on display, according to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

Among those attending the exhibition's opening ceremony were students from the Academy of Arts, artists, art historians, theater professionals, and friends and family of Ada and Babasary.

Ada Gutlyev is an unrivaled carpet artist. His favorite subject is Ahal-Teke horses, the pride of the Turkmen people. In one of the carpets on display at the exhibition, he conveyed information about the pedigree of these elite horses.

In the annual competition for the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, Ada Gutlyev’s works invariably took first place.

The main exhibit, presented by sculptor Babasary Annamuradov, is a herd of Ahal-Teke horses, gilded. This sculptural composition embodies the motto of the year: "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses." The golden horses symbolize the Golden Age of the Turkmen.

Visitors to the exhibition were able to explore the sculptor's rich oeuvre through a video broadcast during the exhibition.

Babasary Annamuradov is a three-time laureate of the State Prize "Türkmeniň altyn asyry."

Among his works on display are apples magnified dozens of times in size, including one encrusted with precious stones. The artist himself can't even remember how many he's sculpted. The artist keeps the reason for this obsession a secret.

The joint exhibition of two folk artists of Turkmenistan is a unique event designed for young artists, who are given the opportunity to learn from the example of experienced masters, the source notes.
