In the city of Arkadag, residents will be moving into new homes to celebrate the National Day of the Turkmen Horse. City Governor G. Mammedova briefed the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on the progress of preparations for the holiday, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
Within the framework of the festive events, a specialized exhibition dedicated to Ahal-Teke horses will be held in Arkadag. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered that all events be organized at a high level, emphasizing that the presentation of keys to new apartments to the happy new residents will add a special touch to the celebration.
The National Leader also ordered the preparation of programs on the traditions of Turkmen horse breeding with the participation of teachers and students of the Aba Annaev International Horse Breeding Academy.
During the working meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recalled the historic Ashgabat-Moscow equestrian race of 1935. At that time, Ahal-Teke horse riders covered more than 4,300 kilometers in 84 days, finishing three days ahead of schedule. According to the National Leader, this legendary race vividly demonstrated to the world the endurance and unique qualities of the Ahal-Teke breed.
