The Turkmenistan national team took first place in the team competition in freestyle wrestling at the Constantin Alexandru and Ioan Popovici International Tournament, held in Bucharest from April 16 to 19, 2026.

The competition brought together athletes under 17 from 14 countries in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. Turkmen athletes won a total of 13 medals—4 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze—and led all other participating national teams in the final medal standings in freestyle wrestling.
