CIS Foreign Ministers' Council meeting in Moscow: next meeting to be held in Turkmenistan on October 7

On April 17, a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Moscow. Participants discussed current issues on the international agenda and prospects for integration cooperation within the Commonwealth.

According to TASS, during the meeting, decisions were made regarding two key educational organizations, and a Joint Statement was approved, commemorating the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight. The document emphasizes that the exploration and use of outer space should serve the benefit of all peoples and states. Furthermore, the participants reviewed a number of draft documents that will be submitted for approval to the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS.

Following the meeting, CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev announced that the next meeting of CIS foreign ministers will take place on October 7 in Turkmenistan, ahead of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State scheduled for October 9. The summit of CIS leaders will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, announced Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmed Gurbanov.
