The President of Turkmenistan held an off-site government meeting in the Lebap velayat

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an off-site Cabinet meeting in the Lebap velayat to discuss the country's and the region's socioeconomic development, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

During the meeting, Mejlis Chairperson Dunyagozel Gulmanova delivered a report. She reported on the progress of efforts to improve national legislation and preparations for the twelfth session of parliament.

At the upcoming meeting of the Mejlis, amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, laws on industrial safety, accounting and financial reporting, fisheries and conservation of aquatic bioresources, and migration are planned for consideration and adoption.

Furthermore, the expansion of international parliamentary contacts was noted. A Mejlis delegation took part in the first Interparliamentary Forum "Central Asia – European Union" in Samarkand, aimed at developing political, cultural, and humanitarian dialogue between the regions. A conference on the role of women in modern society was also held in the Mejlis building, with representatives of relevant UN agencies and the diplomatic corps participating.

After hearing reports from the deputy prime ministers and the governor of the Lebap velayat on the progress of their work in their respective agencies, the head of state gave specific instructions on the further development of national economic sectors and international cooperation. The president also emphasized the importance of continuing to draft new legislation that meets the demands of the times. Corresponding decisions were made on a number of other public matters.
