The "Let's Go!" star dictation, timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight, took place on Wednesday at the Russian House in Ashgabat. The event brought together young people eager to test their knowledge of space, according to the institution's press service.
Participants completed tasks based on a text dedicated to the history of Russian cosmonautics—from Yuri Gagarin's flight on the Vostok spacecraft to the creation of orbital stations and reusable spacecraft. The winners will receive commemorative gifts.
This year's dictation was authored by writer, journalist, and cosmonautics historian Anton Pervushin.
The event commemorates the anniversary of the first human spaceflight, which Yuri Gagarin accomplished on April 12, 1961. Cosmonautics Day is celebrated annually in Russia on April 12. At the initiative of the UN General Assembly, this date has also been proclaimed the International Day of Human Space Flight.
On April 10, the celebrations will continue at the Russian House: from 16:00 to 18:00, events will be held to commemorate Cosmonautics Day and the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight. The program includes a flower-laying ceremony at the bust of Yuri Gagarin, a creative workshop, and an intellectual quiz.
Earlier, the A.S. Pushkin Joint Turkmen-Russian Comprehensive School in Ashgabat launched "Space Week," also dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Gagarin's space flight. The week features quests, quizzes, interactive space lectures, and themed lessons for students of all ages.
