National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in the Austrian capital of Vienna, the Vatan news program reported.

The National Leader's plane departed from Ashgabat International Airport and landed in Vienna a few hours later. At the airport, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was met by official representatives of Austria and Turkmenistan.

Political and diplomatic relations between the countries are characterized by regular contacts at various levels. Vienna consistently supports Ashgabat's international initiatives in the areas of security, energy stability, and the development of transport corridors, recognizing the role of neutral Turkmenistan as a factor in stability in Central Asia.
