The next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS CFM) will be held in Moscow on April 17. This was announced at a briefing by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will attend the meeting. According to Zakharova, the heads of the CIS member states' foreign affairs agencies will exchange views on current international and regional issues and discuss priority areas of work within the Commonwealth, including in the context of the CIS's 35th anniversary, which is being celebrated this year.

Following the meeting, a number of decisions are expected to be adopted aimed at enhancing foreign policy coordination and expanding cooperation in law enforcement, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

Furthermore, it is planned to summarize the implementation of the plan for multi-level inter-MFA consultations and the action plan for enhancing partnership between the foreign ministries of the Commonwealth countries in 2025. Most of the approved documents will be submitted to the CIS heads of state and government for approval.
