Martin Bruck has been appointed Italy's new ambassador to Turkmenistan, the Italian Foreign Ministry announced.

"I am honored to take up the post of Ambassador to Turkmenistan, a friendly country that shares Italy's commitment to dialogue for the sake of peace and international security. Our priority will be to further strengthen economic and trade ties between our two countries," the diplomat stated.

Brooke replaces Luigi Ferrari, who has headed the diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan since December 2022.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Italy were established on June 9, 1992. The Italian Embassy in Ashgabat has been operating since December 2013, and the Turkmen Embassy in Rome since December 2016.
