Toyota Motor has unveiled an updated version of the Land Cruiser J250 (Prado) body-on-frame SUV for the Japanese market, according to drom.ru.
The changes include expanded optional equipment options: larger headlights with round low- and high-beam elements are now available as an option on the VX trim level. Previously, these headlights on the Japanese-spec J250 were exclusively available on the limited-edition First Edition model.
A memory function for the driver and front passenger seats is standard. Anti-theft protection has also been enhanced: the T-Connect system now includes a forced engine immobilizer, and remote starting is now impossible without key recognition in close proximity to the vehicle.
In the Japanese market, the SUV is offered with two engine options. The first is a 2,8-liter 1GD-FTV turbodiesel engine producing 204 hp and 500 N⋅m of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The second is a 2,7-liter 2TR-FE gasoline engine (163 hp, 246 N⋅m) with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The updated Land Cruiser J250 starts at 5,779,000 yen in Japan.
