The modernization of Ashgabat's 500-seat "Şehitler" mosque is proceeding according to plan—the prayer hall has been expanded during the renovation. This was reported by R. Bazarov, Vice President of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, during a working visit by National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the city of Arkadag, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, after hearing a report on the progress of the work, emphasized the need to pay special attention to the quality of construction and finishing materials used.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was also informed about the parallel construction and decoration of a mosque by Turkmen specialists in the city of Fuzuli, Azerbaijan, as a symbol of the friendship and brotherhood of the two peoples. The National Leader emphasized the importance of taking into account the opinions of local residents during the finishing work and made a number of recommendations accordingly.
