Delegates from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan participated in the meeting of the CAREC Working Group

A delegation from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Minister Azat Atayev, took part in the third annual meeting of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Working Group on Green Skills Development.

The CAREC platform enables the development of joint approaches to modernizing higher and vocational education, strengthening links with the labor market, and developing academic mobility, applied research, short-term courses, and new forms of training in priority areas.

For Turkmenistan, participation in this work is of strategic importance, given that the country has already engaged in the practical implementation of these approaches. The knowledge gained was used to prepare methodological recommendations for developing forecasting of in-demand skills and integrating approaches related to "green" skills and a just transition into national education policy.

The results of the current meeting are of great importance in the context of the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Higher Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052, in particular in matters of identifying in-demand skills and forecasting skills that will be in demand in the medium term.

Participation in the project contributes to the updating of educational programs, the development of international university cooperation, the strengthening of the research potential of universities, and the training of specialists with modern knowledge and skills in demand in the context of sustainable development and technological change, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
