The International Secretariat of the World Nomad Games has announced the official mascot for the upcoming tournament: the snow leopard, one of Kyrgyzstan's most recognizable symbols, reports ru.kabar.kg.
According to the organizers, the choice of this image was motivated by its deep connection with the nature, landscape, and cultural heritage of the host country. In the context of the Games, the snow leopard symbolizes strength, dignity, respect, and inner balance—qualities that align with both athletic competition and the philosophy of nomadic culture.
The mascot will be used in informational, visual, and creative formats within the framework of the event's communications campaign.
The VI World Nomad Games will be held in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6, 2026. The opening ceremony will take place in Bishkek at the Bishkek Arena stadium and coincide with the country's Independence Day. The main competitions and cultural events will take place in the Issyk-Kul region. More than 3,000 athletes from over 100 countries are expected to participate. The program includes 43 types of ethnosports, as well as cultural and scientific events.
The World Nomad Games have been held since 2014 at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic and are aimed at preserving and popularizing traditional sports and the culture of the nomadic peoples of the world.
