Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan took part in the First Central Asia–European Union Interparliamentary Cooperation Forum, which took place on March 30–31 in Samarkand, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
In his speech at the forum, the representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan noted that UN member states, including the countries of Central Asia and the European Union, consistently support the legal status of Turkmenistan's neutrality, its role in ensuring global peace, including its constructive initiatives.
It was noted that Turkmenistan consistently advocates for the priority of international law and strengthening the central role of the UN in international affairs.
Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan also participated in the forum's sessions. This format presented successful programs and projects implemented in Turkmenistan aimed at ensuring peace, security, and environmental well-being. Information was provided on strengthening the legal framework for cooperation, creating and expanding transport corridors, implementing investment projects, and ensuring access to energy resources. Improvements in areas such as science, education, and tourism were also discussed.
