Former Google engineer and renowned futurologist Ray Kurzweil has announced the possibility of achieving human immortality in the coming years. In his opinion, artificial intelligence, genetic engineering and nanotechnology can lead to stopping the aging process by 2030, Zen reports.

Kurzweil predicts that microscopic robots will circulate throughout the human body, repairing damaged cells and preventing disease. Such nanorobots will also be able to improve human physical and cognitive abilities.

The futurologist predicts the arrival of a technological "Singularity" by 2045 - the moment when artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence. According to him, this will lead to the merging of man and machine into a single system.

Kurzweil has made predictions in the past that have come true. He predicted that a computer would beat a human at chess by the year 2000, that mobile technology would change people's lives, and that artificial intelligence would reach human-level thinking by 2029.
