An agreement on the creation of a full-length feature film based on the cult Soviet animated series “Well, Just You Wait!” was signed at the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The partnership agreement was concluded by the director of the Soyuzmultfilm film studio Yuliana Slashcheva and the general producer of NTV Timur Weinstein, gazeta.ru reports.
According to Weinstein, "Well, Just You Wait!" is a genuine cultural heritage of Russia, and not just a cartoon project. He noted that the full-length film will become part of an expanded cartoon universe, where iconic characters will receive a new incarnation and development.
Director of Soyuzmultfilm Yuliana Slashcheva emphasized the special status of this animated series among Russian viewers, calling it one of the most beloved works of Russian animation. She noted the unique feature of the cartoon - the ability to bring joy when viewed multiple times and invariably evoke positive emotions from meeting familiar characters.
“The wolf’s pursuit of the hare, as well as their friendship and confrontation, is the very story that can last forever,” Slascheva commented on the concept of the future film.
The film will be produced by the Temp film company with the active participation of the Soyuzmultfilm studio. The NTV channel will act as the general information partner of the project. The premiere of the film is scheduled for 2028.
