A commemorative souvenir BRICS banknote was printed in the Kirzhach printing house in the Vladimir region in a circulation of 10 thousand copies, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, the idea of creating a symbolic banknote arose as an attempt to visually reflect the key values of BRICS - multipolarity, equality and strategic partnership.

The 200-ruble banknote features birds symbolizing the bloc's founding countries — Russia, Brazil, India, China, and South Africa — as well as the flags of the states that are part of the union. The concept of the banknote was first presented in October 2024, and its official presentation took place at the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

BRICS today unites 10 countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, the UAE, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia and Indonesia. The organization seeks to strengthen the international positions of its members through expanded economic cooperation.
