Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov met with the appointed Secretary General of the Secretariat of the Central Asia-China format Sun Weidong on Monday. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Noting the effectiveness of the multilateral dialogue between Turkmenistan and China within the framework of international and regional structures, the diplomats emphasized the effectiveness of the Central Asia-China format.
In this context, the parties discussed preparations for the second summit of heads of state in the Central Asia-China format, scheduled to be held this year in Astana.
The diplomats also discussed issues of successfully developing bilateral partnership. Effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in the trade and economic sphere was noted.
It was noted that favourable conditions for building up interstate relations create a high level of trust and friendship between the heads of the two states, the source notes.
