The Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chinar Rustemova met with the Secretary General of the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO Ligia Deca during her visit to Bucharest.
Ch. Rustemova proposed to establish cooperation between the National Commissions for UNESCO of Turkmenistan and Romania, the website of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Bucharest reports.
The parties agreed to explore the possibilities of intensifying bilateral contacts, including through the organization of joint events, conferences, and the exchange of lectures and specialists to improve their qualifications in areas of interest.
A number of Issues related to the creation and development of a network of geoparks were also discussed during the meeting. In particular, it was noted that geoparks are a relevant and promising form of sustainable economic development of territories, tourism, education and scientific research, as well as the popularization of natural and cultural heritage.
