Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Assistant Director-General, Regional Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Beate Andres, where the parties identified the main areas of cooperation for 2025, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
During the talks, the participants reviewed the results of joint work in 2024 within the framework of the “Roadmap for Joint Activities for 2024-2025”. The Turkmen side took the initiative to organize trainings and seminars with the involvement of ILO experts.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening the legal framework of Turkmenistan through accession to ILO conventions and preparation for upcoming events, including the International Labor Conference.
The parties also discussed joint activities for the current year, which has been declared the International Year of Peace and Trust in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution. The meeting participants emphasized that maintaining peace, stability and mutual understanding between people has a direct impact on all spheres of life.
On the same day, a meeting of the ILO delegation with the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova took place, during which an overview of social reforms in the country was conducted, in particular through the improvement of labor legislation.
