Prolonged snowfalls are creating an extreme situation on the coast of Japan. Massive snowdrifts have covered roads, trees and roofs of residential buildings, "MIR 24" reports.
In the city of Minamiuonuma, the snow cover reached almost four meters. The situation is even more impressive at the Sukayu Onsen ski resort, where the snowdrifts are as high as two-story buildings. This is the highest figure in the last decade.
The continuous precipitation for several days has seriously disrupted the work of public transport, which is functioning with significant interruptions. The snowfall has been going on for several days now with no signs of abating.
